Back from Vacation

Hey there! We are back from the mountains. We actually got back late Tuesday night. We had so much fun! The kids were great traveller's. My daughter did get carsick all the way home and it took us forever to get home because we had to stop so much!

We visited Babyland General Hospital (where Cabbage Patch Babies are born), Cherokee, NC, the GA Mountain Fair, Brasstown Bald (the highest mountain in GA) and we hiked trails, and saw waterfalls and took lots of pictures! I'll post pictures later.

Something that is on my heart today that I guess I sort of learned from our little get-away! You know, while we were gone, we just enjoyed each other, our family, and we really enjoyed God's beautiful creations! There were so many wondrous sites and it really makes you think about what is really important. We worry and stress over so many things that we have no control over. Did you know that it is a sin to worry?! First let me share this with you: Matthew 6:33 & 34 says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.". The beginning of this verse is telling us that the first thing we need to do is to seek the kingdom of God. As Christians this means, spending time with God in prayer and reading His Word. Serving Him whenever we get an opportunity to do so. Now, the part that has been on my mind and ties this all together is the second part of the verse. Take therefore no thought for tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself! There are so many things that we worry about that are out of our control. We say as Christians, "well, just pray about it and let God handle it". Well, yes that is exactly what we should do. It is just alot easier said than done! We can say that, but are we really going to leave it with God and let him handle it? Do we have enough faith in Him to take care of these things for us? He is going to take care of it, but when we try to handle it ourselves and get in His way, we are just making things worse. So, when you pray and ask God to take care of something, leave it with him. Trust Him enough to take care of things. Because if you are doing what is most important (seeking first the kingdom of God) then, he'll take care of you and the things that are important to you.
