Rest In Peace, Dr. Michael Guido

A local hero in South Georgia died Saturday. Dr. Michael Guido, The Sower, was a man who has done many things over the years to win people to Christ. One of the main things that people will remember him for is Guido Gardens, a beautiful place located in Metter, GA. Another thing that I always looked for on television was the little 2-3 minute segments on the local TV stations that would feature "A Seed From The Sower", where Bro. Guido would come on and tell a parable and a Bible verse. It was always so uplifting to see that. He has touched many, many lives in his 50 year ministry and he will be greatly missed. However, we should not be sad at his passing, we should be happy for him, he is now receiving his rewards in Heaven that he worked so hard for!

Dr. Guido once said, "The closer I get to the finish line, the faster I want to run and the more I want to do,". He looked less at what he'd accomplished and more to the work still left ahead.

As they plan his funeral, friends can imagine Dr. Guido would scold them for putting so much attention on him. He'd say they should pay attention to the message and forget the man.

In his 50 years in Metter, no one can remember a cross word from him or a cross word about him. He preached a simple message of an Almighty God who loved everyone. That included a young man named Michael, a converted nightclub band leader who wandered into a revival to hear the piano player. From there on, he sang a different tune to all that would hear.

For those who might mourn his passing, Dr. Guido said long ago no one is lost if you know where they are.
