Well, 2008 has not started off real good. We have already had our first funeral of the year. It was today, and I'm pooped. But, it is a good kinda pooped. It is such a blessing to minister to a family in this way, a family that you know would do the same for you if you were on the other side. But, the most amazing thing about today is that 3 people came to my husband after the funeral wanting to be saved. It is nice to see something good come from a tragedy like this. The Lord has a reason for everything, and his timing is perfect. We now have a baptism service scheduled in 2 weeks and so far we have 6 candidates for baptism! Prayerfully by the time we have the baptism there could be even more! So, I started this post saying that 2008 has not started off real good, because of the death of a friend. But, in another way 2008 has gotten off to a good start, because of the souls that have been saved!!!
"Lord, I praise you for the blessings that have come today. Yes, we buried a great friend, someone that will be missed a great deal. But, we also have been given the opportunity to minister to a family in their time of need. And we've been blessed with 3 souls saved today. That along with the 3 others that have gotten saved and requested baptism, you are really blessing our church. You are awesome, Lord! Please walk with us as we try to minister to these people and help us to be a servant to others. In your precious name, AMEN!"
